The BG CFEV5A-01 is a robust and weatherproof consumer unit designed specifically for electric vehicle (EV) charging applications. This consumer unit is housed in a durable metal enclosure with an IP65 rating, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor installations, ensuring protection against dust and low-pressure water jets.

Quality Circuit Protection Matters for Electric Vehicles

The unit comes pre-populated with a 40A 30mA Type A Residual Current Device (RCD) and a 40A Type B Miniature Circuit Breaker (MCB). These components are crucial for ensuring the safety of your EV charging installation by providing protection against electrical faults, such as earth leakage and overcurrent. Additionally, the unit includes a Type 2 Surge Protection Device (SPD), which safeguards against transient overvoltage caused by lightning strikes or switching operations, thus protecting sensitive electronic equipment.
Key features include its ease of installation, thanks to backed-out and retained terminal screws, as well as the inclusion of an enclosure kit with a DIN rail, neutral and earth terminals, labels, busbar, and cover blanks.
